| あいにくの雨模様のため ビニールハウスの中でのオープニングセレモニーとなりました。 まずは、小泉国際交流事業企画運営委員会委員長のあいさつです。 Because of the miserable weather, the opening ceremony was held inside a tent. Mr Koizumi of the International Association is shown here giving a speech. |

| 川崎町長も駆けつけていただきました。 The town's mayor, Mr Kawasaki, also made an appearance. |

| 地元の「ケーブルテレビばとう（ＣＴＢ）」も取材に来ています。 As omnipresent as the bowing and mosquitoes, the crew from the local cable TV station, Cable Television Bato, pointed the barrel of their big, black camera at our hapless guests. |

| 増子さんの植え方の指導です。 今年は図面を使っての指導でした。 With the aid of a helpful diagram, Mr Mashiko explains how to plant rice. |

| yassanからおみやげに「コシヒカリ」がプレゼント！ 袋には今日撮り立ての写真シールが今年も貼られていました。 Yassan presents to each participant a gift of home grown rice, each bag bearing a label with photos of today's activities, all produced in secret with stunning speed and efficiency while the guests ate lunch. |
