流しそうめん用バンブースライダー（改良型）！ 今年は竹で支柱を作りしっかりと支えられるように改良されました。 The bamboo slide (revised version) for the Nagashi Somen (vermicelli) Noodles! This year, we improved it by making the bamboo supports sturdier.
今や遅しと田植えを待っている「田んぼ」 The “rice paddy” is waiting for the already late-in-the- season rice planting.
小雨のためビニールハウスの中でオープニングセレモニーが行われました。 まずは、主催者の国際交流事業企画運営委員会副委員長山本さんのあいさつです。 The opening ceremony was conducted inside of a greenhouse due to light rain. First of all, Mr. Yamamoto greeted everyone on behalf of the sponsoring International Exchange Project Planning & Implementation Committee.
今回も、地元那珂川町のＣＴＢ（ケーブルテレビばとう）が取材に来ました。 This year, Nakagawa Town’s own CTB (Cable Television Bato) came to shoot footage once again.
ビニール製のレインコートを着込み準備は万端です。 Donning plastic raincoats, everyone was ready to go.
今年も増子さんの「田植えレクチャー」が行われました。 Once again this year, Mr. Mashiko “Rice Planting Lecture” was conducted.

レッツスタート！ Let’s start!
反対側からも植え始まりました。 Planting began from the opposing end as well.
熱心に植えているようです。 It looks like everyone is enthusiastically planting.
増子さんの「田植え唄」が今年も流れ、苗を植える手が速くなりました。 Mr. Mashiko’s “Rice Planting Ballad” rang out over the paddy, quickening the pace that busy hands planted the seedlings.
ほら！なかなかイイ手付きじゃないですか！ Take a look! Pretty good form, huh!
大分植えましたね。 A major portion has now been planted.
さぁー！仕上げだ！ Look! Finishing it up!
「今年が一番上手に植えられました」とは、講師の増子さんの弁です。 Our teacher Mr. Mashiko had this to say: “This year is the most skilled planting ever.”
特設シャワーで泥んこになった手足を洗います。 Washing muddy hands and feet under an improvised shower.
今年はピザの無料サービスがあり、ピザ生地づくりも体験できました。 This year there was a free pizza service where you could try your hand at making pizza dough.
ピザは本格的な窯（大谷石造り）であっという間に焼きあがりました。 銀紙に包んで焼いているのは筍です。 The pizza baked up in no time in the authentic stone oven (made of Tochigi’s famous Oya Ishi stone). Those are fresh bamboo sprouts that are wrapped in foil and baking alongside.
その筍をバターと醤油につけて食したらとても美味でした。 Soaked in butter and soy sauce, those bamboo sprouts are delicious to eat.
昼食前に 都合で途中から参加した 桑野教育長にあいさつをいただきました。 For reasons of his own, Superintendent of Education Kuwano arrives just in time for lunch, interrupting the events in progress to give his greetings.	バンブー・ヌードル・スライダーは大混雑です。 Rush hour at the bamboo-made noodle slide.
今年も「芳井夢の会」「舟戸元気かい」の みなさんの手づくりのご馳走が並びました。 Once again this year, there was a banquet of foods made by hand by everyone from the Yoshii Yume no Kai and Funado Genki Kai community groups.	食後のひと時 歌やダンスなどが披露されました。 まずはロリーナさんのダンスから・・・。 For a few moments after the meal, songs and dances were performed. First, there was Lorena’s dance…
つづいて、アハマドさんの「ドレミの歌」 Next, there was Ahmad’s Do-Re-Mi song.
アンコールを受けてお二人のデュエットも披露されました。 Responding to a call for an encore, the two perform a duet.
そして最後にマールットさんのタイの古典楽器「ソーウー」の演奏がありました。 And in conclusion, Maroot gives a performance on the “Saw-U,” a traditional classical instrument from Thailand.

閉会式では外国人を代表してアグンさんからスピーチがありました。 On behalf of the foreign participants, Agung gives a speech at the closing ceremony.
ボランティアを代表して「ｙａｓｓａｎ」からあいさつがありました。 Greetings from Yassan on behalf of the volunteers.
今年もｙａｓｓａｎちの「日本一美味しいコシヒカリ」のプレゼントがありました。 Once again this year, there were gifts of “Japan’s Most Delicious Koshihikari Rice” from Yassan’s place.
全員集合して記念撮影です。 秋の稲刈りでまた会いましょう！ Everyone gathers for a commemorative photograph. Let’s meet again for the autumn rice harvest!
